Steven J. Tinnelly is the Managing Partner of Tinnelly Law Group, leading the firm’s strategic direction, growth, and expansion while overseeing its day-to-day operations. He also serves as general counsel to some of the firm’s largest community association clients, drawing on his litigation experience at midsize and multinational corporate law firms to deliver practical, business-minded advice. Committed to innovation, he has spearheaded the development of customized enterprise-level technology that strengthens operations, improves efficiency, and enhances client service. His leadership reflects his passion for raising professional standards throughout the community association industry.
Mr. Tinnelly graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Business Entrepreneurship and a minor in Law & Society. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a focus on corporate and real estate law.
A dedicated industry educator, Mr. Tinnelly is a past President of the Community Associations Institute’s Orange County Chapter. He has presented at dozens of industry conferences and seminars throughout California and teaches dozens more workshops for community management professionals annually. He has also authored articles for major media outlets and numerous industry periodicals.
Mr. Tinnelly directs much of the content in the firm’s Resource Hub, including its Board Member Basics book, blog, and podcasts. He also built and oversees FindHOALaw.com, the firm’s online community association law library serving tens of thousands of visitors each month.
